Fox News published an article about 10 ways to not be an annoying airline passenger. The article was published as the horizon of holiday travels is coming fast upon us. While there is not much you can do about delays and long lines, you can help by not being an annoying passenger. The first way you can help is by doing your homework so that you don't hold up the line. Next, don't crowd the gate out of turn. Then, Listen to the safety demo. The next one is go easy on the recline button. Another tip is to try and remember that this is an airplane, not a sports bar. This one is a biggie, don't crowd your seatmate. Then, wait to pick up that cell phone. Another tip is to read the labels. Then the last one is to not forget your manners.
I found this article very interesting and true. I think that people often forget some of these simple tips and can become annoying very easily.
I liked this article. I have never really flown during the holidays. However, I do know that it is a hectic time for travel and that people can be put on the edge. No one wants to stand in a long line or hear that your flight has been delayed when you are trying to get home for the holidays. However, that is life and that is just apart of traveling. Therefore, you can be of help and great relief to the workers and other travelers if you will not be annoying. I found these 10 tips very practical and true when it comes to traveling. No one likes a rude, inconsiderate, uncaring, non-interested passenger or fellow traveler. We need to start thinking beyond ourselves and think of others. Think about the people that have to work on these holidays and are not with their families. I am sure that they would love to be almost anywhere else except at work on the holidays. Therefore, we need to think about others and how the decisions we make will effect them. The lines are not going to go any faster and the delays are not going to go away or get any better with someone being annoying. If you are traveling this holiday, then try to stay positive and not self-centered.
Did you enjoy these tips? Do you travel long distances for the holidays or do you just stay at home? Nevertheless, this is some practical advise for those who are endeavoring to fly this holiday season.

Lost Dog Reunited
Fox News published an article about a lost dog that had been found. For 3 months, a Jack Russel terrier had been missing from his home in Tennessee. Little did his owners know that 500 miles away the little Jack Russel terrier would be found in Michigan. The Michigan Humane Society said that someone recently found the little terrier, named Petey, in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills. While the dog was being examined, they discovered that he had a microchip. The 4 year-old terrier's owner, Jim Arrighi, was notified. The Jack Russel went missing in July, but thanks to the aid of a Michigan resident, he is now back home in Erin, Tennessee.
I found this article very interesting. I find it amazing that the little Jack Russel terrier did not die or become serious injured as he journeyed so far away.
When I saw the title to this article, I was intrigued. As I read the article, I could not help but be reminded of the movie, Homeward Bound. I watched this movie when I was a little girl. The movie was about these dogs and a cat that run away from their home or get lost in the middle of no where. The animals always made it back home, though. Therefore, this sounded like it came from a movie. I was also interested in the fact that the dog was microchipped. I don't know how I really feel about microchipping a dog. I see how it is useful if the dog gets lost, like in this case. However, I just don't know if I like the idea of a dog having a chip inside of them. I know that it is not a large chip nor does it bother them, but I still don't know if I like it. I don't think I would ever get one of my dogs microchipped, but I won't say never. Nevertheless, I am glad that the dog was able to make it safely back to their owners home. This will definitely make for a great story to tell.
How about you? Do you like the idea of microchipping a dog? Would you ever do it?

A Glorious Evening of Baseball
Fox News published an article about the St. Louis Cardinals today. The St. Louis Cardinals won game six of the World Series last night against the Texas Rangers. Both teams are now tied with 3 wins each and will play again tonight in St. Louis for their final game. The winner of tonight's game will be World Series Camps. The Cardinals took the Rangers to extra innings and finally ended the game with a walk-off home run from David Freese. The Cardinals rallied twice to take the game into extra innings. The final game will take place this evening to see who is crowned the 2011 World Series Champions.
I loved this article. I really loved this article because the St. Louis Cardinals won. The Cardinals continue to amaze their fans as the press on to game seven of the World Series.
This article made me very happy. As I was watching the game last night, I have to admit that I was trying to prepare myself for defeat. The Cardinals had an opportunity to score several times, but they were not able to advance the runners to the home plate. As the game was coming closer to the 9th inning, I began to reconcile in my mind that they might not be able to pull this one off. However, to my amazing surprise, they did it! They took the game into extra innings. Then, the most wonderful thing happened. I just told my family as David Freese came up to bat, in a joking manner, that I thought it would be okay with me if he would hit a home run (not thinking that he would actually do it). Then it happened; David Freese hit a home run!!! I loved watching as David ran the bases and then made his way to home plate. The whole team was gathered around home plate and celebrated with David as he finished his run. I am so happy that they were able to win. Tonight I will be watching the game with my family, hoping that the Cardinals can pull off one more win.
So, did you watch the game last night? Who are you cheering for in the final game of this World Series? Who do you think will win? Let's hope that the St. Louis Cardinals can win one more game to seal their amazing comeback season!

World Series Drama
Fox News published an article last night about the World Series game. The Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals have played two games in the World Series. Wednesday night, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Rangers 3-2 in their opener at home. However, last night, the Texas Rangers had a ninth inning rally to beat the Cardinals 2-1. The Cardinals and Rangers are now tied 1-1 in the World Series. The two teams will now travel to Texas to play in front of the Rangers home crowd on Saturday night. Texas is seeking their first Series title in franchise history, while the Cardinals are striving to win an incredible, unexpected, comeback.
This baseball drama is very stressfull. I'm not a crazy fan by any means, but I do hope the St. Louis Cardinals win. I was born and raised a St. Louis Cardinals fan, so I hope that they can make this comeback victory.
I have been posting for several weeks on the St. Louis Cardinals and their progress as they have made it to the World Series. Earlier this season, no one would have guessed that the Cardinals would be in the spot they are right now. The Cardinals were back 10 and a half games at one point and somehow won the wild card race. The Cardinals have now worked their way to the World Series, and they are tied 1-1! This makes my family and I very happy. However, at the same time, this makes us very anxious and stressed. We are having a big family "get-together" Saturday night with my dad's side of the family to celebrate my dad's birthday and cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals. In our house, we have gotten rid of our satilite t.v. and we never watch t.v. anymore because we like to do other things. However, my dad was able to rig up some contaption so that we could watch the World Series. So, it has been a little weird watching t.v. for two nights in a row. Nevertheless, we will cheer on the Cardinals and hope that they can defeat the Rangers to complete this comeback season.
So, are you a Cardinal fan or are you one of those Ranger fans? Do you even like baseball? I hope that you will join me in cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Sweetest Bear in Town
Fox News published a video about a candy store recently. Old Smokey Candy Kitchen had an unexpected guest in their store on evening. When the owners showed up one morning to open the store they noticed candy all over the floor, and a hole through the glass door. There was sticky mess all over the store. The owners had a sneaky suspicion that there was a bear in their store, and they were correct. A black bear had been hanging around the parking lot of the candy store all summer and finally decided to break into the store. Black hair was caught in the broken glass and the surveillance video shows a black bear running around the store. The bear enjoyed a carmel apple and a pecan ball among other candies.
I love this story so much. When I saw the title to this video, I had to watch it. I love stories like these and I think that they make great tales to pass on.
This story just makes me smile. The video is only a minute and 30 seconds long, but it is filled with sweet information (get it, sweet). The owners of the candy store are two older ladies and watching them tell the story is so cute. I found it interesting that the black bear had been hanging around the parking lot all summer and they were not alarmed by that. I think I might be a little worried if there was a black bear in the parking lot. However, I guess I would get used to it if I lived in a location that contained many bears. The video depicted a cute, cozy, old-fashioned candy store. Therefore, it made the story all the more heart-warming. I found one of the funniest parts of the video was watching the black bear run through the candy store on the surveillance video. I also loved the part when the news reporter held up the carmel apple and pecan ball that had been half-eaten by the bear. I really enjoyed this story and thought that it would be a good one to pass along.
What would you do if you discovered a black bear had been in your work or house? Would you react calmly or would you panic and run away?

Love of Money Not Profitable
Fox News published an article about couples who are married. Loving money may not be good for your love life, according to research. Years of research show that materialism isn't great for anybody. Across the board, marriages with at least one materialistic spouse were worse off on all measures than marriages where neither spouse was materialistic. Non-materialistic couples had greater marriage stability and lower levels of conflict. Materialism often means spouses making bad financial decisions, spending beyond their means, getting in debt, and stressing each other out.
I found this article very interesting. I found this research to be very practical. The research also did not surprise me.
When I read this article I was reminded of the saying, "You can't buy happiness." This is so true. So many people think they will just be happy if they get this or that. However, they are wrong. Yes, they will be happy for just a brief period of time, but then it is never enough. They are never satisfied with what they have. They must always be getting something newer, bigger, or better. Learning contentment is an extremely hard task in today's society. We are constantly bombarded by companies and people pressuring us to get the latest or to buy this or that. When this happens in a marriage, just like the research shows, often spouses make bad financial decisions, spendbeyond their means, get in debt, and stress each other out. This is the formula for an unhappy marriage and one that will often end in divorce. If couples could learn that they do not need everything that the world tells them they need, then I believe they would find a much bigger and better sense of fulfilment.
So, are you content with what you have or do you have to have the biggest, best, and latest of everything? May we all strive to be content with what we have and learn that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Cards Tie Up
Fox News published an article this week about the St. Louis Cardinals and their loss against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night. The Brewers beat the Cardinals in St. Louis. This caused the Cards and Brewers to tie up in the NCLS Series 2-2. The Cardinals played tonight in St. Louis and won. The Cardinals won tonight 7-1. The Cards are now ahead 3-2 in the series. The Cardinals need to win one more game to play in the World Series.
Thursday nights game made me slightly upset. However, the Cardinals won tonight and I am so very glad that they did.
We stayed up last night waiting on play by play updates for the Cardinals. I was very upset when they lost last night. I was hoping they could win last night and then win again tonight in front of the home crowd and clinch the title. However, they will have to make another trip back to Milwaukee. Nevertheless, they won tonight and this makes me very happy. I just came from the hospital where my grandpa is currently staying due to a slight heart problem. We watched the game there with him and he was very excited that they won. I hope that they can pull through this and win this series. It would be amazing if they could win one more game and make a trip to the World Series. I know that it would make my grandpa very happy if they would do this. I look forward to watching them and seeing how they do. Hopefully they can pull it together and win this series without to much drama. Then, off to the World Series I hope we go!
So, are you a Cardinals fan? It would probably not be a good I idea if you said that you weren't.
