Thanksgiving

Well, tomorrow is Thanksgiving day.  People all over will be gathering together to celebrate the day.  I this is a unique Thanksgiving for me and my family this year.  Usually for Thanksgiving, my family will gather with both sides of my parents' family. We will gather one day with the Webb side and another day with the Snow side.  However, this year is different.  With the recent passing of my grandfather, Thanksgiving is already different; but this year we are not in Missouri for Thanksgiving.  This year we are in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We just arrived in Michigan earlier this afternoon.  We have come to Grand Rapids to celebrate Thanksgiving with my brother and sister-in-law.  My brother and sister-in-law have been living in Grand Rapids since June of this past year.  They moved up here this past summer so that my brother could attend Seminary here in Grand Rapids.  My brother is currently attending Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary.

We are very excited to be here for Thanksgiving.  Although this year is much different, we still have so much to be thankful for.  I am blessed beyond measure.  I am so grateful to have a wonderful, loving, and Christ-exalting family.  I am so thankful for my home, and to live in a country that allows me to be free.  I have a refrigerator full of food, clothing on my back, and warm, dry bed to sleep in every night.  I take so much for granted every day and I easily forget all that God has richly blessed me with.  I have so much to be thankful for, but the one thing that I will spend eternity being thankful for is my Salvation in Jesus Christ.  God has given me so much, but the greatest thing that He has given me is my faith and salvation that can only be found in His Son, Jesus.  I will spend the rest of my life and eternity celebrating and being thankful to God for sending His Son to die and raise again from the grave.  I pray that if you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, that you will not rest until you find your life and joy in Christ.

We all have SO much to be thankful for, especially after this year.  This year we have been confronted with an extremely deadly and damaging tornado, sickness, death, destruction, and separation.  However, we still have so much.  Take time this year to realize how much you really do have.  Stop and think about how much we have all been richly blessed with.  From our family to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
