'Tis the Season

Early Tuesday morning my family and I made our way back to Missouri after being in Michigan for a week.  We went to Grand Rapids, Michigan to spend Thanksgiving with my brother and sister-in-law.  We had a wonderful time in Michigan.  We were able to meet several new people and learn about their stories.  We met a couple from Brazil and a girl from Iran.  We also had the privilege to met a man from South Korea.  While we were in Michigan we went shopping, ice skating, and we ate more than our fair share of food.  After we got back home on Tuesday night we unpacked our suitcases and cleaned up the house.  On Wednesday, it was back to normal.  I went to class and my parents went to work.  However, when I got home from class, I sat up the Christmas tree and began to decorate the house.  I surprised both of my parents when they came home from work.  I love surprising people.

I have to admit that Christmas is one of my favorite holidays.  I love this time of year for several reasons.  I love the weather that comes with this time of year.  I like to get all bundled up and wear winter clothes.  I also love the snow...maybe that is due to the fact that my last name is Snow.  I also love the decorations.  I love seeing all the lights garland that adorn the house.  There is just something about the weather being cold outside, having a warm house, and having your home lit up with lights.  I also enjoy the time with family and friends.  It is always fun to have time off and to be able to reunite with friends and family that you have not seen for so long.  I love this time of year for many reasons.  However, most importantly, it is the time of year when we celebrate our Savior's birth.  Praise be to God our Father for sending His one and only Son into this sinful world to die for sinners like me and you.

  1. Amen! We so often forget what Christmas is really about and yet there are so many who don't know or worse yet don't care. I am so thankful for Jesus and the fact he died for a sinner like me because without him we would never make it to our Heavely Father. No one comes to the Father, but through me John 14:6 Thank you Jesus!
